Our Faith and Mission
At Hawthorn Presbyterian Church, we are committed to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and living out our faith in community. We believe in the authority of Scripture, salvation by grace through faith, and the priesthood of all believers.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV)
Join Us in Worship
We invite you to join our welcoming community as we gather to worship God, study His Word, and support one another in faith.
Sunday Services
Main Service: Every Sunday at 11:00 AM. Our worship service follows a simple and timeless Presbyterian form, emphasizing the reading and preaching of God's Word, congregational singing, and corporate prayer. We believe in the importance of reverent, God-centered worship as described in John 4:24: "God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."
Morning Tea: Join us for fellowship at 10:30 AM before the service. This time of fellowship allows us to live out the command in Hebrews 10:24-25: "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."
Bible Study: During school terms, we offer a Bible study at 9:30 AM. Sometimes our Bible study relates to the day's sermon, providing deeper insight into God's Word. At other times, it is a stand-alone study or part of a series. We believe in the importance of studying Scripture, as 2 Timothy 3:16-17 tells us: "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."
Midweek Activities
We offer various opportunities throughout the week for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship:
Tuesday Prayer Meeting (Online): Join us as we come together to pray for our church, community, and world.
Wednesday Bible Study (Online): Currently this is a repeat of the Sunday 9:30 study for those who prefer to meet mid-week.
Listen to Our Sermons
Missed a service? Don't worry! Our sermons are available online for you to listen to at your convenience. We believe in the power of God's Word to transform lives, as Isaiah 55:11 promises: "So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it."
